5th Grade Parents,

Due to the stormy weather this morning, our internet service was intermittently cutting on and off. As a result, we will need to postpone 5th grade FAST testing to ensure students have a smooth and uninterrupted testing experience.

The updated testing schedule is as follows:

• ELA FAST – Friday, May 8
• Math FAST – Monday, May 11
• Science FAST – Thursday, May 14

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility. We appreciate your continued support as we work to provide the best testing environment possible for our students.

Good Afternoon CES Families,

We have two exciting events coming up and wanted to make sure you have all the details!

💜 **Purple Up! Day**
Join us as we honor and support our military children by wearing purple! This special day is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to show appreciation for the strength and sacrifices of military families.

🍧 **Kona Ice Day**
Students will also have the opportunity to enjoy a refreshing Kona Ice treat! This is always a favorite event, and we’re excited to bring a little extra fun to our campus.

Please take a moment to review the attached flyers for important details regarding both events, including dates, pricing, and participation information.

Thank you for your continued support in making CES such a special place for our students!

Purple Up Day
Kona Ice is Coming!
Afternoon CES Families,

This is Mrs. Looze, Assistant Principal of Chumuckla Elementary School, with an important message for parents and families. We conducted a lockdown drill at school today as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law.  We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety.  Again, all students are safe, and this was simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Planning Day Reminder

Hello CES Families,
Kona Ice is coming on 03/26/26. We are using an online payment system to simplify the process and make things easier on our staff. Please copy and paste the link into your browser to pay, or use the attached QR code.
Event Link:
https://customer.kona-ice.com/#/K2496139400
- If you would like to provide a Kona for another student, please select the "Pay It Forward" option, and add the item to the cart. You may purchase as many as you like, but please select each Kona Ice separately (select one, then add to cart, then select next one and add to cart, and so on and so on....)!
- Please have your order in by 03/24/26!!!!

- If you have any questions about the prepay system contact guynfrank@kona-ice.com. We encourage you to not send cash. Pay online! It's super easy! (Of course, we will accept cash at the truck, but paying online eliminates the possibility of your child losing the money before they get to the truck.)

Dear 5th Grade Parents and Families,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of a recent staffing change in our 5th grade math classroom. Our math teacher has resigned from their position, and we are actively working to secure a strong, highly qualified candidate to fill this role as quickly as possible. Ensuring consistent, high-quality instruction for our students remains a top priority.

During this transition, we are also aware of some gaps related to standards-based instruction. Please know that we are already taking action. Our team is reteaching key concepts, providing additional support, and offering opportunities for students to retest and demonstrate mastery so that every child has the opportunity to be successful despite the challenges we have faced. Additionally, administration is closely monitoring the gradebook and student progress to identify any areas of concern and will address the need for reassessments or additional support as needed to ensure students stay on track academically.

In the meantime, substitute teachers and support personnel have been stepping in to continue instruction. We greatly appreciate their efforts and dedication. However, we have experienced an increase in classroom disruptions within some of our 5th grade classes. A positive and focused learning environment is essential for student success. We kindly ask for your partnership by speaking with your child about the importance of respectful behavior, staying engaged, and making the most of instructional time each day.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this transition may cause. Please be assured that we are doing everything possible to secure a qualified teacher and to provide the continued support our students and staff need. Our commitment remains to deliver the best education possible for every child.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the front office at any time. We value your support and partnership.

Thank you for your continued trust and collaboration.

Warm regards,
Christy Baggett
Principal
Chumuckla Elementary School

If you'd like, I can also format this onto school letterhead or make it email-friendly with a shorter subject line and tighter spacing for ParentSquare or email distribution.
